The companies

Morgan Training Associates and Morgan Training Services were established in 2000 by Gwyn and Jayne Morgan.
Morgan Training Associates (MTA) provides training to the Social Care sector. MTA is currently working with companies that provide care to people with special needs, EMI homes, nursing and rest homes, domiciliary care providers as well as companies working with children in social care. The training that is offered is designed to meet the needs of the individual company, all the training can be targeted to the company’s particular requirements meeting its client group needs.
Morgan Training Services (MTS) provides training to companies outside the care sector, these companies come from a diverse range of occupational areas including tourism and leisure, golf courses, horticulture, agriculture, landscape gardening, catering, food processing, construction and other industries.
MTS and MTA are registered with a several awarding bodies and other organisation that allow us to keep up to date with current legislation and quality issues that affect the training industry, all our trainers are qualified to the standard required by the Government guidelines for delivery of Government supported training and undertake regular updates to ensure that their courses are both relevant and current to the trainees needs and that of the employer.

The people
Gwyn Morgan – managing director
Gwyn has been involved in training since 1983; he started training for Doncaster Borough Council as a training officer delivering training to youth trainees wishing to undertake a career in Agriculture. While with DMBC Gwyn achieved many academic awards but more notably a level 4 in training and development with City and Guilds and the advanced Heath and safety certification at level 4 with the Institute for Environmental Health, he is also a registered instructor with CIEH, Lantra, HSE and CITB.
Jayne Morgan – company secretary
Prior to working in partnership with Gwyn running their two companies Jayne worked in the retail and manufacturing sectors for several years in a managerial capacity and achieved a BTEC diploma in quality management.
Jayne runs the office dealing with a variety of tasks including the coordination of training, customer enquires, quality assurance and the management of the company accounts.

Paula Ikin – tutor
Paula is a registered general nurse and a registered midwife and has been nursing for over 20 years. She holds City & Guilds qualifications in training & assessing and care home management and has in the recent past managed a care home in Southport where she achieved the Investors in People Award. She also holds a professional trainer certificate and a supervising health & safety certificate issued by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. Paula currently works part time in a nursing home so is always up to date with social care issues and is familiar with the requirements from CSCI. The topics she teaches include manual handling and people moving, drug administration, protection of vulnerable adults, infection control plus many other topics relevant to the social care sector.

Sean Case-tutor
Sean has recently retired from BT where he worked as a senor project management tutor. Sean’s’ training qualifications are an Adult Teaching foundation from the University of Central Lancashire. He delivers project management training, first aid appointed person and first aid at work training. Sean is also a qualified mediator & arbitrator.

Paul Davenport- Tutor
Paul retired from Merseyside fire and rescue service in January of 2007. While with the fire service he obtained a Certificate of Education and D32/D33 assessors’ awards. He also has a certificate in Education (post 16) awarded by John Moores University. Paul has also achieved his NEBOSH National General certificate. He undertakes fire risk assessments for companies and is also a tutor for fire safety, first aid appointed person and health & safety.  

Declan Barry – tutor
Declan spent several years in the catering industry in a senior managerial position prior to becoming a full time tutor, working  in such establishments as The Prince of Wales Hotel and The Royal Clifton Hotel. He has several City & Guilds qualifications including D32/D33 and 7307 stage one and two as well as a Further & Adult Education Certificate. He also holds an advanced food hygiene certificate and an advanced health & safety certificate. Declan delivers food safety, health & safety, COSSH, risk assessment, manual handling & people moving & stress awareness training.

Gill White – tutor
Gill has been involved with food safety for a number of years both in manufacturing and catering. Her roles have included amongst others technical and laboratory management and quality management. Gill has several awards including an HND in food technology, a diploma from the Royal Institute of Public Health & Hygiene, Advanced food safety & a NEBOSH General certificate in Health & safety. She also holds a training qualification issued by the CIEH for group training. Gill delivers food safety & health & safety training and is also a consultant advising on food safety and food safety systems.
